Doula Support

As your doula, I will gently guide you back to your inner power, so you can embrace birth with confidence and trust

CLEAR INFORMATION & SUPPORT

Knowledge is important, but knowing about birth is not the same as feeling prepared for it.

Birth can be one of the most intense experiences of your life, and it is natural to feel some degree of fear or uncertainty about it. My role is to help you build the inner resources to meet birth with greater confidence, trust and connection.

Alongside with the emotional support and evidence based information about the physiology of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, my approach is rooted in embodied practices that help you reconnect with your body and its innate capacity to birth.

Through self-enquiry, conscious movement, yoga and breathing techniques, pelvic awareness, deep relaxation, and massage, you will experience your body rather than simply learn about it, and most important discover what feels true for you and what you want for yourself and your baby.

Because confidence is not built only through information. It grows through experience — through feeling your body, listening to it and feeling that you can trust yourself.

MOTHER & BABY CARE

Your partner is also an important part of this preparation.

Together, we’ll explore practical ways he/she can support you during labour — through touch, massage, breathing, movement and other forms of physical and emotional support.

Preparing for birth is also about preparing for the transition that comes afterwards.

We’ll explore Physiologic Baby Care, helping you understand your newborn’s needs and supporting their transition into life outside the womb. Alongside this, we’ll prepare for your own transition into motherhood, so that you can approach the early days with greater awareness, confidence and trust in yourself.
