This is all inclusive program and welcomes people of all family configurations. We believe that our journey becomes richer with diversity, so it is open to all types of family systems, including LGBT families, single mothers, and surrogates. If you are single mum you are welcome to join by yourself or if you prefer you can bring someone of your trust either family, a doula or a close friend.
Our journey together will provide information on various topics, including the physiology of labour and birth, common Hospital Procedures, alternatives, comfort measures, and techniques to manage pain, so you can make informed choices for your birth. That said, it is also expected that you invest some time in your daily life in between our sessions together to practice what we learn in our live sessions.
This journey was created to support both parents in preparing for childbirth and the transition into parenthood. While the main focus is, of course, on supporting the mother, the course is also designed with birth partners in mind. We believe it is essential that partners are included in birth education so they can move beyond simply being a presence in the room and truly offer meaningful support during the birth. That said, everyone is free to choose their level of participation, and if your partner cannot attend all sessions, you are still very welcome to continue the course.
Yes, prenatal yoga has a big focus on pelvic floor awareness, and it goes far beyond kegels
Pre natal yoga is a practice of yoga adapted to the changes that a pregnant body goes through in a way that nourishes the body-mind-heart system while fostering a sense of deep connection with yourself and your baby, preparing you for birth and postpartum
Based in a ancient practice well known for its benefits to physical and mental well-being a Pre-Natal Yoga class will work with the interconnectedness of our different bodies – the physical body, the mind body, the emotional body and the energetic body.
Pre Natal yoga, is not rooted in accomplishing fixed postures as it is focused in working with the physical body by strengthening certain muscles and relaxing others so you can be more prepared to handle labour and birth; but also calms the mind-heart system which is the floor for opening a space of deep connection with your self, the whole and the wisdom that you and your baby are part of.
For example, supported twists adapted to your stage of pregnancy help keep the spine mobile while calming the nervous system – Since worry and overthinking often accompany pregnancy, supporting nervous system regulation is essential for balance and calm;
Not at all. Pre-Natal Yoga as said before is an embodied and mindfulness practice focused in nourishing pregnancy and in preparation for birth. You don’t need to have any experience and all bodies are different. What is relevant is to gain the awareness to respect your body present condition that is ever changing.
With our experienced instructors, Berenice and Susana, you’re in safe hands to give it a try and fall in love with it!
Our sessions together will offer you the information so you can make your conscious choices and prioritize what is most relevant for your journey and we will also offer guidelines to help you design your personal birth plan.
We will mainly speak English, but Susana is Portuguese and able to translate and clarify any difficulty within our sessions
Yes, the truth is that Birth is unpredictable, and that’s why is so relevant to prepare body and mind to manage unexpected situations
More important than Optimal fetal position is give you the tools so you can create space in your pelvis to help baby to engage and descend. Optimal Fetal Position is something we do not control as babies are constantly changing and will change several times their position during pregnancy and labour. Our Approach is more focused in Optimal Maternal Position and alignment – that’s what facilitates baby descend.
Birth isn´t only an intense physical event — Its a whole-being experience that will touch your body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Besides the evidence based information our journey is focused in offering you embodied practices so you can connect with the multidimensional realm of being, and birth from a space of trust instead of fear.
Why is that so relevant? Because when a pregnant woman has tools to cope with the intensity of labour and feels safe within, her body will respond accordingly and she will have a positive birth experience.
A mantra is a sacred formula made of syllables (bija mantras) that carry vibrational power. By repeating them, our consciousness connects with Infinity or Reality. This connection allows the vibration of Infinity to resonate through every cell of the body, raising our level of awareness and restoring balance to our energy system.
For pregnant women, this practice not only cultivates inner harmony, intelligence, and calm, but also offers a profound way to connect with the baby and prepare for birth with confidence and presence.
It´s not necessary to know how to sing, it is rather a question of letting the mantra vibrate within you, whether internally or by chanting it.
Absolutely! Half of my clients/ participants are 2nd time moms, so all sessions in our journey are thoughtfully tailored to the different profiles and scenarios. They focus on bringing balance to the body-mind-heart system and personal growth, so you can feel more and more empowered and navigate your unique pregnancy journey, feeling ready to birth your baby. As one mom shared: “As a second time mum I was feeling quite informed about birth and postpartum but I register because I knew that by getting together with other women and childbirth educatores/ facilitators would grow my confidence and my overall feeling of being safe, supported and loved and that all pregnant women need
Our journey together includes daily morning Pre-natal Yoga & movement exercises, Live music with mantras, guided relaxation, breathing and visualization exercises, technical information on pregnancy, birth & postpartum, group sharing, exercises and activities creating opportunities for connection and build community.
This is a time in which participants not only gain insights from the facilitators but also learn from one another, broadening their perspectives and validating their emotions.
A blanket to cover yourself during savasana ( that cover your whole body), comfortable clothes for our daily practice and warm sockets. More than that, just an open mind and heart. We will have some teas and snacks available but if you are queen with something in particular you can bring it, as we also have a kitchen
